about
Hi, I'm Leonardo,
I'm a data scientist, born and raised at the foot of the Friulian Dolomites (Italy), where I grew up speaking Friulian at home, now based in Bolzano/Bozen (Italy). I work as an Applied AI Researcher at Fraunhofer Italia, working on computer vision, machine learning, multimodal imaging, and graph neural networks, with a strong focus on reproducible research and open data. I'm also drawn to human-centered technology: adaptive industrial workstations that integrate eye-tracking, gesture tracking, and assistive technologies for inclusive manufacturing environments. I'm in love with Technology, and how it can improve people's lives.
In the past, I've worked in Publishing, Public Institutions and Tech Consulting. The common thread? Solving problems end-to-end.
My work is also shaped by my background and education: two MSc degrees, in Data Science and in Cognitive Neuroscience. I've studied at the University of Trento, with also a summer term spent at the Nanyang Technological University, and a fall term at the University of Toronto.
In my free time, you can probably find me writing novels, climbing, reading or playing the guitar.
